Howdy to all following our clubs activities! I would like to ask you to take the

time to review our events list as there have been a few changes from our flyers

we have distributed. There will not be a CSA jackpot on June 3rd or 29th. There

will not be a CSA State or Regional championship in July. We may or may not be

adding an additional CMSA shoot in July to replace these events, so keep checking

in for updates. These changes are due to the lack of attendance and interest in our

CSA events. There will also be some practices being added in the near future.

In order to practice or compete with the Keystone Cowboys you must be

a CMSA member. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Keystone Cowboys got there 2012 season underway this past weekend with their Spring Fling Shoot

at the Jefferson Co Fairground. Saturdays event ended with Mark Wright of the Northern Ohio Outlaws

taking home the Overall title and yours truly slipping into the Reserve spot, also winning my class and

earning a move up. Also earning a move up was Carla Spackman of Ohio during Sundays event. Saturday

night's dinner was provided by the fair board's Spring Fling Benefit dinner which was delicious. Though there

were many winners during the day, all who attended the dinner were "losers" as far as the raffles were

concerned! We had a new member, Stan Carper of Catawissa, PA. join in the fun and do quite well for

his first event. Though there were a few technical difficulties, the events ran exceptionally smooth thanks

to the olympic balloon runners from Abraxis detention center! These guys were rocking the courses and

showing us just how efficient a shoot can be. A great big "THANK YOU" goes out to these fellows. We

can't forget our ladies who work so hard to keep everything in order. Deb Braid, Deb and Amanda Owens,

as well as Dave and John Owens and Liz Billotte all pitched in to get things done. We also want to thank

Bill May for being Range Master, not to mention the fill- ins, Mark Wright and Rick Hill. Sunday's Overall Champion

was Zach Snyder and Reserve was John North. We would like to thank everyone who attended, spectated,

or volunteered throughout the weekend and hope to see you and your friends all again at our July shoot.

Until then, remember to ride hard and shoot straight!

2012 Season PDF Print E-mail

It's 2012 and an exciting new season of cowboy mounted shooting is already under way. In other parts of the country shooters have been saddling up and racking up points towards the 2012 World championship and year end awards. There is the new Winter Championships in AZ this Feb. and some clubs have been doing the indoor thing. Well, here in PA we aren't that fortunate, yet. It is a goal of mine, as President and founder of Keystone Cowboys, to grow this club and promote the sport enough to eventually have a winter schedule of events, but for now we have to stick to a seasonal routine.

I have noticed a fair amount of web traffic on our site and I hope everyone keeps coming back and checking in. It has been a while since I have posted any new material, but that will soon change. Stay tuned for our 2012 events schedule that will be coming sometime after this week. There is a board meeting this Sunday in which we will set a tentative schedule and discuss other items. We have also been able to purchase some new equipment to make life a little simpler for our work and support crew.

This year we plan to have more shoots. Dina Barrata and Cindy Karp have been in contact with me from the NE Six Shooters in MA and have stated that they hope to make it to an event or two of ours this year. I await this with great anticipation. I would love to draw more shooters in from other areas and show them that, though we are a small group, we are serious about putting on the best shoot that we can. With any luck maybe we will have a PA State Championship with double the attendance of last year (even though last year was great for our first one). Who knows, with a little luck maybe we could talk Brady Carr into helping us produce a Classic event up here in the NE!!
